hi Lizard, well there are no kegs on island, so i just thought i'd keep the answer short and sweet,of course one could always go to the brew pub i suppose with their pitchers and get some of the stuff they make, haha

Not that I am a big beer drinker, but does that also mean there is no draft beer on island? Are there no kegs b/c of the shipping costs, weight, etc.? Just curious, something I never gave much thought.

I thought there was draught beer around. I know I have seen the spigots.

In theory I guess in my own mind there would have to be draught beer. As a bartender myself that would require a huge stock pile of beer that could potentially go bad sitting for to long. Let alone the amount of space it would take to handle all of that beer at one place.

I guess thats the problem with thinking in theory all the time. Just have to deal with the situations that make no sense.

Have a wonderful sunny day!

simkiss, I heard about a year ago that one of the distributors was bringing in kegs, and I have see draught beer on island. You could call around to the beer wholesalers/distributors and ask. Check the yellow pages at www.viphonebook.com. They don't sell to the general public, but you might be able to get a bar owner or store to order it for you. The grocery stores have the baby kegs of Heineken.

I've seen miller lite kegs advertised on a banner outside of the Food Center in Frydenhoj.

STT Resident, can you shed some light on this? I've had a tasty New Castle draught from your establishment.

The only kegs I have seen on St. Croix are at the Brew Pub, which brews its own beer.

Unfortunately, beer from a tap is just one of those things you give up when you move to St. Croix in exchange for great beaches, sun, and RUM, which we have plenty of and it's mighty cheap.
