Hi All:

I've noticed over the last year or two during visits to STT and Tortola that anodized aluminum pots seem to do well in the climate. I am planning to bring some pots and pans down to use. Any opinions on the best pot ware for the climate?

islandlola: I wouldn't fuss too much about pots and pans. Whatever works for you stateside will work for you here. Obviously if you're into cast iron (I got all mine years ago from somebody leaving island who didn't want to take them back because of weight requirements!) then, here as elsewhere you keep them seasoned to avoid rust.

Gas cooking is the norm here except in condos which are traditionally electric for obvious logistic reasons...

You can find pretty much everything you need here where pots and pans are concerned so, again. let that not be a major issue. Cheers!

Thanks, STT! I will then proceed to bring whatever pieces I have handy...

Hi Islandlola,

If you are short on pots and pans I recommend that you stock up on them in the states. Most of the pots and pans I have seen here are expensive as compared to the states and the quality isn't very good................

Pots and pans are definitely on my list of things to bring back from my next trip to the states.
