West End STX Hotel?

Welll, I put up a post about trying to find temporary housing but nobody answered. 🙁 SO, here's my new proposition 🙂

What hotel do ya'll recommend for a medium-term stay, somewhere between Frederiksted and Kingshill? Then I can stay there for a week or two and get the housing situation sorted out when I arrive. I have only seen one hotel online (the Frederiksted Hotel), but heard a rumor that there is a second by the name of Prince. I would like something that is affordable, clean, and secure, but I don't care about ammenities.

Thanks guys!

Kimberly

I would suggest either Cottages by the Sea or Sandcastles on the Beach. Or on the North Shore either Waves of Cane Bay or Cane Bay Reef Club. These and the Fredriksted Hotel is really all there is until you get closer to C'stead.

If you want to save lots of money by doing your own cooking, consider these two, both in the same neighborhood at or near Dorsch Beach and the Sandy Point wildlife sanctuary, south of the town of Frederiksted:

Cottages by the Sea has an extensive website
www.caribbeancottages.com/

You can see immediately on line whether the apartments at Sugar Hill are available for when you will arrive:
www.SugarHillbytheSea.com

Good luck - Joanna

Cane Bay Reef Club has nothing available. All the units are rented long-term to refinery employees.

Alexandra's been helping me out, I'm going to try and get something temporarily for when I get down there and then sus everything out. Trouble is I still don't know exactly which day I'm coming down, but I'm working on it...

And I'm also going to try and stay out of Frederiksted as of this point for commuting and other reasons, and hoping for something north or outside of Christiansted. (So if anyone wants to recommend a suitable place for a week or two in that area let me know).

Thanks for the help, guys.

Kimberly

Thanks for the links, Joanna. These are a little more than I was hoping to spend (~$1,000/wk) since I might need a temporary place up to a month, but I will keep looking.
