Good day all,
With the Danish coming back soon to STX willing to spend money has anyone heard if they are going to do anything about our sad excuse for a boardwalk? Also is anyone has info on who to write to to have this improved it would be helpful. Everytime I go to the boardwalk I'm embarrased by what I see, everything broken and missing.

I may be wrong but I do seem to recall reading a recent article indicating that the plans for its repair have been approved and are on track. You might check the STX Source for the article.

PS: Found this from the February 12th Governor's blog:

"The governor said that Public Works will be overseeing efforts to revitalize the Christiansted Boardwalk by repairing damage from recent tropical storms and general deterioration. The project has already secured funding for boardwalk lighting through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency has provided assistance to repair storm-damaged areas of the boardwalk."

From further research, seems that additional funding is still needed but this was in a July 2012 reference.

I knew you would know something. Approval and action are 2 different things.Hopefully we'll see some action soon. now's the time to do it with no one there and everything closed. I heard something on the radio a while ago but I've seen nothing.

Send the Danes to the two running tracks at the high schools which the Senate just borrowed $4 million to "complete" .

Apparently, the senators like the boardwalk just the way it is.

After hurricane Omar, the governor swore all the broken areas of the water front would be fixed before the season started. He just didn't specify what season or year.
