As an airplane fanatic, for me there could be nothing better then watching a plane land(I know it seems weird). I saw that the Brewers Bay is facing the approach of the airplane, are there any home in that area that could see the planes land, and if so is it a generaly safe area?

Brewers Beach is ONE great place! It is right next to UVI, never crowded, mostly used by locals, clear water, nice sandy bottom, usually a vendor or 2 selling snacks from vans. It is one of my favorite beaches, the airplanes landing & taking off are a treat.

The Airport giveth, the airport taketh away!

haha, it sounds great, are there any houses that would give me a great view of the airport/landing planes? if so, what are the prices? Would building be an option?

The areas above Brewers Bay are great airport vantage points. Upper Lindberg, Bonne Esperance, Crown and Hawk, Pearl- some of those areas have great view. You kinda have to see for yourself. Before you think about buying, rent for 6 months and get the lay of the land. That area is popular with UVI students because of the proximity to the campus...

Peter,

Check out this first listing on the Daily News Classified page. I know you mentioned a house, but maybe this might interest you or the renter could answer some of your questions... Just paste this link:

the area sounds great because for me, because in my opinion, nothing could be better then sitting on the porch of my house drinking a tropical drink on a tropical island watching planes take off and land. But nobody has answered my question of is the area safe?

Hello,

To expand a little bit; Yes the general areas around Brewers Bay are safe. They are almost completely residential, quiet areas. Immediately on the right of Brewer's Bay and accross from the Bay is University property and Reichhold Center for the Arts (about 180 acres). To the right of the campus is an OK area, safe, fairly developed with residences close to each other and some commerical establishments, not a very pretty area in my opinion. To the left of the campus and Reichhold as you head uphill toward Fortuna ect and up toward northside there are some really pretty lots/homes that offer great panoramic views of the ocean, the airport, university. You can also find homes further up the mountain that will offer the view just from further away. Hope that helps.
