Last night a friend who has Broadband VI told me he's recieved a few E-mails from the company announcing they are now offering telephone service on STX. We subscribe to Broadband VI and have received no such E-mails. I see nothing on their web page about it, either.

Has anyone else heard about this?

It's a nice idea, but Sunfone has "fax to e-mail" service as an extra-cost add-on; there's nothing in their web site, however, that suggests it's possible to send a fax using their service. The only reason we have a land line is for our fax machine. Our cell phone plan provides for free long distance calls to anywhere in the US from anywhere in the US (including PR and the USVI). Since we travel a lot, we'd have the cell phones anyway. Can't see getting another service that's not going to add to what I already have. If I could send a fax w/ Sunfone, I could get rid of Innovative.

Hi there,

SunFone DOES offer faxing via your computer and you can receive faxes via email so you can read them on your iPhone or any web based device when you are on the road.

We have partnered with VI Broadband as we tested all of the various broadband companies networks and found them to be the most reliable. We are not part of Broadband VI in any way other than we recommend each others services.

SunFone by name is a new company, but we have been on island for 4 years providing PBX systems and long distance to larger companies like Bolongo Bay Hotels, AH Riise, Carib Beach Resort, Budget Rent a Car, just to name a few.

SunFone is now offering residential and business dialtone as well as rental PBXs for smaller companies for $199 a month which includes 3 business phone lines. So if you can cancel 3 phone lines with Innovative you get a free PBX.

I didn't mean to get too salesy but I wanted to make sure I answered all of your questions and cleared up any misunderstanding. If you have any specific questions please feel free to email or call me.
