There is currently no ferry running between STT and STX. When it ran, it was for passengers and small cargo only, not cars.

See this old thread for car-shipping options between STT and STX: https://www.vimovingcenter.com/talk/read.php?4,137253

So do you have to fly or charter a boat? I read on the web site that there was a ferry and it was $50 each way but I can't find it again to save my soul.

For travel between STT and STX, almost everybody flies. If it involves something really heavy, then you find a shipping company.

It is not cost effective to charter a boat between STX and STT - too far apart. The only way to travel between island is to fly. The ferry has been out of business for at least 2 years, and as stated above, it was for passengers only.

Does the Norma H transport cars?

Here's a link to the NormaH website which explains how to ship a vehicle between the islands.

You probably saw the schedule on the VINow travel site. It currently notes that service has been suspended "until Spring 2012" but there has been no indication that the ferry will ever return to service. Many companies offering the service have come and gone over the years and the latest ran aground on St Thomas during a July 4th outing but even before that was having severe financial difficulties. The 40 mile crossing over open sea is very rough at times which resulted in the various ferries being locally known as "Barf Barge" or "Vomit Comet". However, as noted, these were not car barges but passenger ferries.

I spoke to them on the phone a couple months back and they were very helpful.

who's the one with the TV Commercials? Sea Star? and yes Norma H does too.
And Tropical hits both Islands - so maybe they would too?

Let us know what you find out.
