i need a islands vehicle. I'm moving there on Feb 21 to live with my uncle and his daughter. its been my dream to escape NYC for a bit and I'm so excited..but anyway wondering if anyone had any quotes on cheapest transportation on the island. thanks

I was at Cost-U-Less today and saw that they have brand new scooters for $999. They're only 50CC, but, hey...the speed limit on STT is only 35. It'll getcha up the hills...

Check the Island Trader every week (it comes out on Thursday) and otherwise look out on the road for cars with FOR SALE stickers on them, ask friends. You can buy a reasonable no-frills island car for about $1500 but make sure you have it checked out by a reputable mechanic (the small fee is well worth it) and make sure the title is free and clear and that otherwise all paperwork is in order.
