Just wondering if any of ya'll bought the relocation guides or DVD that they sell on here from the VI traders? And was it worth the money?

Agree, anyone contemplating a move to the USVI's (or any other Caribbean island for that matter) would be wise to purchase and read the guides and/or watch the DVD's. If they have any qualms about spending the few dollars it costs to learn more about life in the islands then perhaps they should seriously rethink their plans.

The guides are a good starting point but the information you will find on this board by reading it is at least 10x more comprehensive. You will find answers to questions you never thought to ask.

I agree with Hiya!, but still recommend getting the handbook. I'd suggest making some notes in it on some of the things you read here and don't see in the book. When we first got here, internet service was hit or miss where I was staying at that time. I consulted that handbook many times. Although, I found it less than perfectly accurate on a few subjects, it still served me well. I probably put it away after the first month.

Thanks again to everyone.
These answers makes me want to start another thread with a different question about everyone's worst obstacle to over come in the first 2 weeks on island.

I bought it in 2004.

Good info for those looking to relocate or buy a vacation home.
