Raymond Cintron, MD at Beeston Hill Medical Center, 340-719-6300. I may be wrong but I think he may be the only one on STX.

Thanks--has anyone had any experience with either of these doctors? Good or bad?

I went to Dr. Cintron for a colonoscopy a couple months ago. He was very reassuring and hopefully competent. I was quite anxious about the whole episode but it was not as bad as I feared!

I have been going to Dr. Cintron for 6 years and he seems as competent as the stateside doctors I saw before moving here. His equipment may not be as high tech as the other gastroenterologist I have experience with but it is adequate. The one complaint I have is that the appointments are never on time. He sees his hospital patients in the morning and has office hours starting at noon or so, and if there are any delays in him getting to the office, which there always seems to be, then the whole schedule slides. And if he does start on time the appointments start backing up anyway after the first couple of patients, since he is in high demand and they schedule the appointments pretty close together. So my recommendation is to schedule an early appointment, bring a book, and plan on being there for a couple of hours. Bring your checkbook because you will have to pay for your office visit before you see the doctor. And he was not taking Medicare in the past, according to a sign in the office, so you might want to verify that if you have it. But overall, I like Dr. Cintron and his staff and have no concern recommending him.

Dr.Goldman treated my husband for five years prior to his death (my husband - not the doc). I trust him implicitly. His wife, Helen, is a doll and real treat to work with regarding payments, etc.
