Sunday/Monday Avis had an article about moving inmates.......think it has to do with the 3 who escaped.
They had inside help & they are moving inmates to help advoid more problems.

Theres a couple of breakouts every year and this was the straw that broke the camels back. 98 federal prisoners are being moved. They did have inside help and so far the person in question is not even being punished, was just sent home from work.

Don't know where you guys get you info from. I don't think an arrest is a slap on the wrist!

27 years on the job! Government job in the VI, with all the benefits, and now what....does she get to keep her retirement, like Turnbull's cronies? What a waste.

Taxpayers pay for prisons everywhere. In general, there is some minimum sentence past which prisoners aren't kept here but are sent to the states for incarceration. Others who would normally be in the states are here because of some judical action, second trial, appeal, etc.

At least that's my understanding. What we really have on-island is like the county jail in the states.

Apparently deJongh recently visited the jail and was appalled by the situation.

I'm glad they did end up arresting her. They suspected her when she came to work covered in hickies and though it odd when her boyfreind was in jail. They said she broke quickly. But frankley all up who live here know an arrest is a slap on the wrist, lets see if they are able to sentence her with anything. Hopefully losing all that prison money will make them a little tougher on her. These are federal prisoners they islands will lose money.

If she helped in any way, she should be thrown in jail and lose her pension. But lets not make her guilty until she has her fair day in court
