I'm planning a PMV in June. I was going to try to scope out potential areas to live while I was there. Could someone please give me some ideas of where to find 1-2 bedroom apts. or condos($1000-$2000 rent) in safe areas of the island. I'm not looking for exact locations, just areas of the island to either avoid or focus on. Example: (not much on the west end of the island. crime is high in this area of town. etc...). Is there an area of the island where younger people live?

Thanks for your help,
BW

Hello BW,

For the information you provided, you might have luck at the following... try www.hangyourhammock.com and look at the rentals when you visit. Great ocean view. I know many 'young' people who live there with roommates. Has swimming pools, etc. Most rentals are furnished and it is a gated community. Some are in your price range. It is on the SE side of the island and access to beach. Good luck with your search.
