From what I have read, permits are required but it is possible to get them. Don't get caught without the proper paperwork as it seems you will be a guest of the feds for 5 years (according to a sign I saw at the Tutu Mall). I had a book about the islands that explained exactly what needed to be done and I'll try to locate it.

for a concealed handgun permit, it's a few-hour course, an easy test, two letters of recommendation.
