I am sure most saw this by now, but, sadly, Kara has passed.

So sad. Makes me so mad that someone can let this happen or do something this terrible to an animal. Kara can now RIP. Thanks to all who helped her try and get better.

So sad - makes me mad!!!!
Does anyone know what caused this terrible tragedy...I know that Upper Love is a huge dog-fighting area.
I gritted my teeth and looked at her injuries - I thought that I had seen it all between PR and the VI, but those images made me sick.
She is at peace now - let's just make sure this doesn't happen again.

For Kara:

When Mark Twain wrote of man in his The Damned Human Race: "Below us, nothing," I have only to agree with him after seeing the horrendous results of an egregious, criminal act, such as this, committed against an innocent animal like Kara...an animal who is considered mans' best and loyal friend!

I am, too, livid; my logic is paralyzed when attempting to comprehend - in any way - how someone could possibly hurt a pet (or any animal) in this or in any other manner. No forgiveness can be bestowed upon the individual who ultimately killed Kara; justice should prevail.

I can only hope her spirit will be carried on the wings of an angel to a place of rest; to a place of peace; to a place of love.

Lily,

Sadly, I don't think that's the case.

Remember, a fund has been set up in Kara's honor to help defer the costs of treating other abused animals. I assume donations to Kara's Fund can be made at Tamarind Reef, Carambola, and Dr. Hess's office. Let us not forget her strength, beauty, courage, and spirit.
