I don't understand the Virgin Islands teaching requirements...can anyone help?
I have a Master's Degree in Business Administration and I know I am qualified to teach at a University level in the States.

For the public schools, see this link: http://www.teachusvi.net/certification.htm. The website also has links to application forms and everythimg else you would need to apply.

At least for high school, you need a degree, or at least a minor, in the subject you want to teach. Not sure if the public schools offer business administration at the high school level. You also need to pass the Praxis I exam and possibly the Praxis II in your subject area.

Some of the private schools have less stringent requirements for teaching in terms of what degrees you have.

UVI posts any faculty openings on careers.uvi.edu. I know people with Master's-level degrees who have taught there, however, typically for a non-community college anywhere, you need a PhD.

What does the Praxis exam consists of? Can it be taken online? I have a specialization in Accounting and Business.

Praxis I is reading, writing and basic math (up to easy algebra and basic data/stats stuff). Praxis II are subject tests that you would take in the area you want to teach. These tests are for public school teaching. You cannot take them online--they are like any other standardized test. You have to go to ets.org, register, pick your test administrtion date and then show up at the testing site (on STX it is at UVI).

I'm not sure what subjects accounting or business would qualify you to teach...perhaps math? You may want to call the Dept of Education and ask them directly. Maybe they are not as stringent in some cases, but for the most part, you need to have a degree in the subject you teach at the high school level. For early education, you need an education degree.
