Hooters/MoJo

Found myself with some spare time between meeting with different friends today in Havensite. First went to Mojo's .... very cool in temperature due to the swamp cooler thingie being channeled through some duct work. A little on the expensive side for a supposedly "local" place. It's sort of a Duffy's in the round. Watch out leaving - cars are little too close for comfort when existing on the west side.

Hooters - I know go figure BUT $12.99 for a dozen of the freshest oysters I have put in mouth in a long time! Excellent service except the manager did not want me to take a dozen home for my hubby, So I ordered another dozen, ate one and ask for a doggie bag. Worth the effort!!!

Pamela,
Was the manager afraid the oysters would go bad on the way home, or what?

I'll try Mojo's but on principle, I'll skip Hooters no matter what prices they have. :-X

It wasn't my first choice either. It was a friend in from Colorado. And I hate to say my principles were not strong enough to keep from scarfing down the oysters!

Dare I ask on what principle?

The same principal that always kept me out of Playboy after the 60's. 🙂

Trade: You may come sit next to me any day. I cannot wait for the day Hooter's closes up and goes back to Florida, although my friend Ronnie would be upset, I am sure! 😀

I have a great idea for a bar featuring all-male wait staff under a certain age but I can't mention the name here. Use your imagination. 😎

That's good!!!

Pamela, the new place's oysters will be much better so you don't have to darken Hooter's door again.

I always felt uncomfortable in Hooters. My husband was a seafood wholesaler in FL, and they were a big account, so we went occasionally, but I really dislike the whole "theme".

At my age I'M more interested , what's on the menu, not on the floor.

I had an employee who went to work for them who was flatter than my female dog (who has never had puppies) & she had to wear falsies. I have no idea if she's still there or not. If more of them have her body type they could rename the place Pimples.

I went there with two male co-workers and my female boss. The waitress was such a litlle idiot ( I know, shocking) every single thing about the order was screwed up. The waitress blamed the "new buttons" on the register. My boss and I did not want to leave a tip, but of course, the men did...

My waitress was a sweet young woman with a brain. She is here from Kansas City on a partial scholarship for Basketball at UVI. My order was served correctly and politely. We had a pleasant conversation. Agreed that the concept is skewed but I was not there for the "entertainment" but to meet a friend.

I will more than likely not be back - particularly if you open that new place! 🙂

I go for the wings. After all, they are just waitresses. So what?

Actually we tried the BBQ and the Daytona wings and both WERE quite good and a fair price.

I don't think you go for the waitresses' wings. 😛
