LPNs seem to command $29-48K, surgical techs around $27-30K. These are from a salary list published September, 2006.

You would be more on the "struggling to make ends meet" end of the scale. Your housing costs could pretty much eat your salary - especially if you add in WAPA bills.
On StX, a studio apt. will cost you 600 per month - plenty has been said on the board about the cost of living. Use the search facility to take a look at prices, utilities etc.

Oh, did I forget to say that these are surely Union jobs and would give you government insurance (much better than what one probably gets in the US) along with a huge number of holidays, a reduced price meal and *many* more perks?

The hospital cafeteria is actually really good and cheap too. About $3-4 dollars for a big plate of food. It's as good as a lot of local restaurants. Whenever me and my honey go to pay WAPA or Innovative or do something in Sunny Isles, he always stops at the hospital for food.

The cafeteria at RLS on STT is quite good also. Lots of outsiders go there for lunch.
