Good Day All...

For those of you that have successfully relocated to a rental property (that you did not arrange before you arrived on island) on STT/STJ, how long did it take you to find that property and what part of the island were you looking?

If you'd like to share your story, be my guest i'd love to hear, however a simple answer will do just fine also.

Gracias.

Kyle

Several hours - I was looking and now live on the East End, and I was very very lucky. Shouldn't take more than a day or two at best. No reason to. Unless you come during high season.
Good Luck.

Without knowing somebody to give you leads, its all based on Thursday and the Island Trader newspaper/classifieds. Once I got the paper, first call answered and I had a place.

My success was in having everyone in the stores, Duffy's Love Shack, and the Deli, all point to the same source - as someone that had a place to rent. After the fourth or fifth person suggested the same direction - I took the advice.

So, in addition to the Island Trader (comes out on Thursdays), try the message board at the East End Secretarial Service, the one in the Mail Service (same building), as well as sometimes, the one at Marina Market .

It took me about a month to find my home. I was looking for 3-4bedroom and those are harder to come by. If your looking for 1-2 bedroom, there is a lot more availability on the island and your search should be considerably shorter.

Island Paul, based on your response, do you think during high season it would be close to impossible to find one bedroom housing, or would just take longer, such as closer to a month. Thanks,
Patrick
