All:

Anyone have a ballpark figure on having a pool built? It's tricky to reach so excavation might be tough- and I'd rather have painted concrete/tiled surface than a drop-in fiberglass one. Approx. 10'x20'. Will need to have a stainless steel 'infinity' edge.

Thanks in advance.

Paul.

Not knowing exactly I would say at a minimum $50,000. You would be making a huge mistake in my opinion go the concrete painted/tiled route. Been there done that & had to put in fiberglass liner cuz the painted concrete kept peeling.

About a year ago I was looking into prices for one as well. I was told to figure about $6 per gallon.
FYI: There are 7.48 gallons in a cubic foot.

My husband's brother has a pool business in New England where he works summers. He said at least 50K here in the islands. We've had 3 pools here at different homes around the island. They were usable about 4 months per year without a heater or solar cover. Add those costs to final tally.

I had an estimate LY about the same size and wanted to raise it to the 2nd level of my house and it was 50,000.

Our pool is an oval shape of similar size (max depth 5') - it cost $42K when we built it 12+ years ago. Had to have the "Diamond Brite" finish redone after 3 years but had continuing difficulties maintaining finish color and "smooth texture". Three years ago we decide to tile the entire pool at a cost of $13,000. Haven't had any finish/color problems since.
