Did anyone lose WAPA on STX?

We are close to Green Cay. No electricity since about 7am today.

Wow, guess somebody sneezed at a power line that early.

Cotton Valley lost power at 5:45am. I can see a pole down past the firehouse.

Overall, not a bad event, considering the devastation so many others will be dealing with tonight.
My payers go out to them all.

Have not heard any change on curfew, Seems like no need for curfew until 6PM tomorrow on STX unless there's a lot of trees on the roads.

Weather Channel this morning was reporting 30-35 foot seas off of STT and PR and only likely to get bigger.

WAPA web site says Customers without service at the present time should expect to remain without service until the storm has passed and crews can assess damage levels and implement a restoration schedule.

That's the way it always is; lots of downer poles on STX.

From http://www.virginislandsdailynews.com/breaking/curfew-still-in-effect/article_70da0042-2662-5d73-a84b-e52333ba7844.html

"Government House has issued a curfew for all islands as of 6 a.m. Wednesday morning, as announced at yesterday’s press conference.

The curfew is in effect at least until 6 p.m. Thursday, though that could change once officials have a chance to assess the damage."

Watching the news they are trying to scare the pants off viewers reporting 3.5 million US citizens in PR having to weather the storm, it's barely going to touch the north side of PR with tropical storm winds, most of the island probably won't notice anything.

MAPP is live on FOX news right now trying to explain that his order is misunderstood and VING is not authorized to seize any private property/guns from citizens, only authorized to buy weapons on open market without having to go through normal government procurement process. Now they can go back to reporting some real news.

I'd settle for concrete poles like the have in FL and keep the trees trimmed.

I hope all of you who are on stt or stj are okay. Stx really really got lucky for this one

I hope the damage isn't too much. I have heard from 1 friend on stt whose house fared well. I have a friend who is looking to find out if his friends are okay. I have directed him to the what's going on St Thomas Facebook group, any other groups he should know about

Curfew lifted on STX from 8am to 6pm thursday. As per the Governor.

To be re-assesed this afternoon, if WAPA can energize enough neighborhoods then curfew may be lifted entirely. Decision on that later today.

Schneider Hospital mashed up bad on STT some patients being flown to STX today. Roof membrane gone. Most windows blown out, as per the Governor.

Fire Station Lima STT roof collapse and structural failure. One injury reported there to a first responder stationed there. Minor injury.

40 miles made a big difference, saddened to see what Irma did to St. Martin, St. Thomas, etc. Hoping family and friends in Florida and beyond heed the warnings and stay safe as Irma heads that way.

Look around today, take a moment or two and BE THANKFUL for the life you have and the roof over your head; so many people no longer do.

Entirely? Curfew was originally only in effect until 6PM today? Unless he decides to extend it past 6PM.
