Possible good news for Barbuda, Antigua and all the islands hit by Irma!!!

This is from Gert on stormcarib.com

And then we have Hurricane Jose, now a Category 3 hurricane. Hurricane watches have been posted for Antigua, Barbuda, Anguilla, Sint Maarten/St. Martin. Ironically enough all islands hit hard by Irma. But things look a bit better than earlier today. It looks like the track is no longer trending closer, but now further away! Closest Point of Approach with Barbuda is now 64 miles (was 43 miles), for Antigua 90 miles (was 71 miles), for Anguilla 90 miles (was 63 miles) and St.Maarten 99 miles (was 73 miles). Hurricane force winds extend outward up to 35 miles. Jose might strengthen a bit more, but is no longer expected to be a Category 4 storm! Normally a storm like this would be fine for the islands, but with so much loose debris laying around and many houses with damaged (or no) roofs, it is not going to be fun.

I'm calling this one another north pass, but even farther away, might not even get much rain.

Are any of the ferries running from STX to STT/STJ? May be able to rebook the PMV that was scheduled for STT next week to STX, but would like to spend time assisting in cleanup efforts if possible on STT/STJ.

Don't worry, clean up on STT will be going on for at least "months".

we are sending the national guard over this weekend to assist as well.

I had heard STT->STJ ferries were up and that the STX->STT would be up possibly tomorrow.

Looks like the forecast shows Jose tracking a little further North East with BVI STT/STJ only under tropical storm watch.

Latest forecast shows Jose staying offshore from any and and no more watches for VI or BVI. Looks like it will stay a fish storm.
