I "discovered" D containers!

I just wanted to share....

I have been looking for a good solution for moving some household goods from FL to STX. I don't have enough for a 20" container and couldn't find anything like a POD that would ship to the VI.

Our local Pack and Ship in FL suggested we use D containers. They are approximately 5' X 3.5' X 4'. They are heavy duty corrugated cardboard and come with a pallet for easy transport. The Pack and Ship hasn't given me a price yet, but will do so on Monday. I did google D containers and found a place where I can buy them for less than $35, including the pallet.

I plan to pack smaller boxes and then put them all in the "D". That should make everything well protected. Now, I just need to get a price from VI Cargo or Paradise, etc.

Thought this might be helpful to others!!

I read about them quite a while back but, not having need for such a service, they slipped my mind completely. Sounds like an excellent option!
