Hello, All! Well my boyfriend and I have been planning to move to STT for months, but have just changed our plans to move to STX (3 days ago)- we arrive Aug. 12. Herein lies our quandary, we have no where to go. Does anyone know of a short term rental similar to STT's Villa FAirview, or any cheaper style hotel, motel, Holiday Inns(JK). Any suggestions? Thank you!
Cheers!

Best Western is supposed to be reasonable.
Also check the vacation side of the message board.

Best Western wasn't bad at all.....under a hundo a night.....I actually found it to be clean and comfortable, and the AC rocks.

I'd try Pink Fancy http://www.pinkfancy.com/

Hotel on the Cay http://www.hotelonthecay.com/index.php has pretty good rates and specials in the off season as well. Granted, both of these are hotels, not guest houses.

Real budget places include The Breakfast Club http://nav.to/thebreakfastclub and someone on this board recently stayed at the Kronegade Inn http://www.kimanipro.com/kronegadeinn/kronegade/kronegade.html and reported that it was okay. I would not consider the Club Comanche. Although it seems picturesque and historic and the rates are reasonalble this is the Bates Motel only scarier!

Look on this board about 5 pages back for Bu-Bah. He has a real nice condo in Questa Verde, if it's not already rented out. we stayed there in May, and was very nice. Their email address is:

If you need something short-term while finding a permanent residence, try Villa Margarita on the north shore at Salt River. It's fabulous, and the owners will be able to answer many of the questions you will have about finding the things you need to get settled into the island... unlike hotel staffers. You can reach them through their website at www.villamargarita.com
