Inflatable RIB Registration

Does anyone know what documents are needed to register a 10' Inflatable RIB that has never been registered before? I see a good deal on one, but they are 60 miles south of the border (Mexico) and I don't know what the notary situation is like or if the VI will even accept a Mexican notary if that is what they need. The owners will only be in port for another week, but it is the best deal I have seen so far and I was thinking of driving down there.

Maybe best to call DPNR to find out what is required.

Yes, go to the DPNR office and ask the nice folks there. They will know what to do.

The OP is not in the VI. He cannot visit DPNR in person.

I tried again and finally got someone to answer. She was very nice and explained if the craft has never been registered in the US, which it hasn't, a signed bill of sale from a Mexican notary would be OK. Thanks, guys.

You may have to pay customs duty on it, if made in Mexico, if brought into USVI which has no trade agreement with Mexico as the Mainland US does. This is applicable for US cars that have parts made in Mexico for them so it may translate over to other items.
