Innovative Cable Credit for Omar Outage

My cable TV was out for over two weeks after Omar. I called Innovative last month and was told the credit would "automatically" appear on this month's bill. It didn't happen. I'm not sure that it's worth the effort to recover about $25. However, I'm wondering if anyone else got an "automatic" credit or had to badger them to get a credit.

I didn't have an outage but I'm quite sure you'll have to call them again.

There have been multiple times that I've paid my Innovative bill by credit card over the phone 2 weeks ahead of the deadline, yet I'll be hit with a $2 late fee come the next bill. I'm starting to think that they realize how few people are going to bother getting 2 bucks back and just take it as extra income.

I had to call and write them several times. My cable was out for forty one days. When they posted a credit it was for less than a month's service. When I called them they said i would have to come in. I told them I would pay them what I owed them and no more. The CSR promptly hung up on me. I'm sure that Innovative is playing chicken with most of their customers figuring the can get away with collecting for service that they never provided and must customers won't have the patience to challenge them.

vicaptain, I've gotten bogus charges on just about every bill. Not only late fees but reconnect fees even though the SERVICE was never disconnected and all bills are promptly paid. Gosh -- do you think the person that calculates the market basket of prices for the VI government moonlights in the Innovative Billing Department? Jim Dandy - I think you are absolutely right -- most customers lack the patience to go after these small amounts. It's more trouble than filling out a $10 rebate. So I wonder if these seemly widespread overcharges are by design or incompetence.

I've never had a problem with Choice's billing.

This is the company that after a few months during which there wasn't phone service after Marilyn, made me pay for the phone anyway if I wanted to keep my phone number even though the phone lines didn't work for almost a year. It had taken months & months to get the phone line before the storm so I paid it since I was scared I'd have to wait MORE months after service was restored to get another line.

Just looked at my upcoming--Jan 1 2009---cable bill on the Innovative website. Saw the credit, and called to question the amount. Was told the credit was for the period of October 24 through the day my cable was reconnected--December 13 in this case...but credit ONLY covers charge for actual service, no credit for boxes etc. Have run across this before, but this time I'm annoyed enough to pursue it further. Why is the first week free for them, and this box charge is absurd as well...the CSR just said it was the company policy to continue the charges....I am going to file a complaint with the Public Service Comm (for the little good that will do), and pursue through the FCC...I'm just really annoyed this time. We were out till Dec 13, and it hasn't worked properly since then either.

Be sure to do it in writing so it will be less likely the PSC will try and treat it as an informal complaint. Push the PSC to open it as a docket item which means that it will more than likely cover everyone that has a similar complaint. If it is docketed Innovative's exposure will be much greater and their legal expenses could run them $10K or more. Innovative needs to learn that their bull shit policy is going to cost them even though they are a monopoly.

you need to ride their butts. They never credit you automatically. If you can drop by and wait until it is done or do the same on the phone, if they answer. They are a real tough company to do business with. If there was another CABLE company I would give them a try. Choice is not much better.

We STILL do NOT have cable, and they STILL insist on charging us every month. I would switch to Choice in a heartbeat but they don't service our area. Almost 3 months now.

A little off subject, but I saw an advertisement for HD in their tutu office this week. I thought that was eons away. Anyonw know of HD coming to Innovative? I'm plannning on installing Dish next week in order to get HD programming, albeit limited channels, and no national channels (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX). Anyone the inside scoop?
