Great !!! I fit into the category of being over 50. BUT this to me looks a lot like pandering for votes .... as most know the greatest percentage of voters are "more seasoned" in years.
Now they want the government to dictate to the insurance companies that they provide a discount to those that take an accident prevention course. In one respect, those that are prone to accidents need a course to improve. However, I know many people over 50 that are better drivers than those in their 20's. And a course puts undue burden on those with limited finances ..... or maybe the government is getting into the driving school business also and will provide it for free?.
Why not let the insurance companies do what they have always have done ..... and factor premiums based on ones past driving record.
I really think the legislature (during a fiscal crisis) should be spending time some other way.
