Yes, there is! There is a drag racing tack with cars coming from as far away as Puerto Rico and Tortola!

That sounds Great, how often do they run? Are there any or many builders or people who work on the cars for people on STX?

Yes, Caribbean Auto Mart and The Divi Casino are the sponsors. I would recommend a call to them for info!

St. Croix had had drag racing since I was a boy growing up here. We raced Camaros, Mustangs, Oldsmobile 442's, etc etc.

There id a very strong drag racing association here, and there are regular events with cars coming from Puerto Rico and other islands to compete. You will not find any shortage of drag racing enthusiasts here, and some very hot cars as well.

Yes, there is a legally sanctioned drag racing track near the airport, although back in the old days we raced on that road that runs by John H. Woodson school, and for a short time raced on the newly-constructed Melvin Evans Highway starting at the traffic light by Hess (Hovensa) and going a quarter mile east on the highway.

You got a race car?? Bring it!!

I've loved cars and racing all my life, although mainly circle track. I'm more into the building end, having my own fabrication shop for years doing everything form headers, chassis, suspension, and manufacturing dry sump oil pumps.
My one big hang-up about being able to live on an island has been the lack of car intrests, and being able to tinker in my shop. Your response has given me a new outlook!
Thank YOu
Terry
