Good Afternoon,
Well, we tied up the apartment we were considering near downtown. Anyway, the building is a fortress where we can both live and work, and, has a nice private courtyard. Now we can proceed with other matters like WAPA and internet/phone hookup. Are there any suggestions as to which company is good or bad in downtown CA? Perhaps a combined contract for internet and cell phone would be best. Any thoughts?
Thanx - Jammin Jerry Z

Innovative is running a special if you "bundle" up by getting 3 of their DSL, cable, long distance & land line phone. You might want to check it out. Cheaper if you take 3 of those 4.

We live up on Crown Mountain and have not been happy with Innovative cable or internet. We ditched the Innovative internet first and switched to Ackley. We have been happy with it. The cable is the next thing to go because the sound quality is horrible. Our neighbor has the satellite and loves it and he gets good reception. However, if there is a bad storm...no signal. Another neighbor has Choice for cable and telephone and loves them both. Maybe the internet would be better in CA since it is closer to the hub, but where I am it was really bad.

I had the same questions a couple of weeks ago regarding Internet, cable, phone. Just to let you know you are not in Kansas anymore everything in the VI is very expensive and the service not so good. I talk last week to the owner of the house that i am buying and maybe closing next week. When i saw his house perched on a cliff in the North Side of Peterborg and he has all kind of gadgets phones and wifi thru the house. He told me he has Choice communications and that he is happy with it. I asked him how he has choice signal gets there due that the house is perched on a cliff in the north side he said that the signal comes straight from the mountain overlooking Mahogany run state torse all the Houses in the north side of Peterborg peninsula . He also mention that the CEO of choice lives in Peterborg so service is 100% all the time. He has cable, Digitalphone, Internet with choice and he is happy. The current owner is a Financial consultant and lives in New Jersey he has to be connected at all times just like me. He told me that AT&T cellphone signal is only good outside of the house torse the north but inside there is hardly any signal in his cell. He has another line that he pays additional from Innovative and he uses as a fax. He said that sometimes when there is a storm choice looses power and there is no signal and a regular wire line always keeps him connected. Now in regards to internet i am not going to pay 899.00 a month for 2 MB download from choice this is a car payment. I research and i am going to get Hughesnet Formerly direcway satellite internet for 199.00 a month i get all the bandwidth i need from a fraction of the price. I had this satellite service internet provider in the mountains in P.R and it was good most of the time. Hughesnet has plans starting at 59.99 for broadband a month but you must purchase the equipment for about 599.00 dollars. Now there is Satellite tv from Dish network and Directv. For dish network you need a bigger dish that you are used to in the states maybe 2 dishes you will get the same prices and programming you get stateside with digital quality. Direct tv in St thomas is Direct tv from Puerto rico is Direct tv from latin America and the bundles, prices, and some channels are different than in the states. In regards to signal everytime it rains or it is very cloudy like with dark thick clouds you are going to loose signal.

It all depends on where you are on the island.
