It will be nice to see something nice in its place...

Can anyone give a history of the site, and the hotel?

I found the history myself, and I am posting it here in case anyone else is interestred.

I'm very excited someone is going to develop the area. I can't wait to see it.

I don't know how I got to your message... but I was not able to see/read any of the history/detail on the subject... would it be much to ask if you could e-mail me the info... if you have any pictures would be great.

Thanks,
Claude.

Islander,
I remember the place quite well. What is happening with the property, is it just getting renovated and will still be a hotel, or is it getting torn down, and something put up in it's place. How far along are they with the project?

Gator.

The project just got the go ahead. They will have a 150 room hotel, a larger marina, 3 restaurants and a bunch of bars, some stores and a park! They should start demolition in September ,if not sooner. Today I see that all of the boats have been moved out of the slips.
