Also try the Buccaneer. They are often hiring servers.

Make a short concise resume and ask to meet the owner at any place you would want to work - be available immediately.

The Buccaneer Hotel is looking for an Assistant Restaurant Manager.
340.712.2100. I think you have to go to their HR office during certain times.

The Divi is hiring, but you need to fill out an ap at the labor dept.
Also just start hitting the restaurants w/resume in hand......many are looking, but NOT advertising.

I am also looking for work in the Red Hook area, also would consider St. John. I need to make use of public transportation for now. Woud prefer something outside. I am an experienced sailor and can also work with personal watercraft. Any ideas?

A lot of the boating community meet at the coffee cart on the Marlin Deck at American Yacht Harbor. Very friendly bunch! Show up early for coffee, and just talk to people. Good luck.

bferrens: You are going to have a better chance if you network in person. Start at the dock- American Yacht Harbor, Independent Boat Yard, Compass Point. Carry a resume. Ask everyone if they have any more names for you. Sober and competent people who are there in the flesh have the advantage over people on the internet! Good luck and let us hear what you find.
