Today, Dory Tiblier, wife of Tom Tiblier( co-founders of the Krewe de Croix), passed away. Her intelligence, caring manner and superb organizational skills will be sorely missed by all. God speed Dory, and God Bless you Tom.

The group that organizes "Mardi Croix" and the "St Patricks Day Parade".

The Krewe de Croix does organize and run quite a few events on island. Mardi Croix being the major event....but also the "krewe de barkus" dog parade, a masquerade ball, the Big Beard USA contest, the annual Rib Cookoff, Santa on the beach photo op and many other events. They do not have anything to do with the St. Patrick's Day parade.

Some of the people who do the St Pats parade also work with Krewe de Croix

Yes, many of the Krewe members are known to work on different events all year long! We are fortunate to have a great number of caring/sharing people who aren't adverse to rolling up their sleeves to make life happier for others. Dory and Tom have been tireless in that effort!

For anyone that may be interested, Dory Tiblier's service will be a burial at sea on Monday morning....weather permitting. After the service, all who wish to pay their respects to Tom can join the friends and family gathering at Angry Nates. The boat will depart at 7:30 AM and the gathering will occur upon the return at 8:30 AM or so. Again, if you are interested in making a donation in Dory's name, a money gift to Tom to help defray the funeral costs would be greatly appreciated....I am sure!

CORRECTION!!

The date for the burial has been changed to Tuesday morning. Apparently, a doctor has not signed the death certificate as yet, so the funeral home cannot make preparations! She died under Hospice Care and her remains were transported to the hospital on Monday. It is now Friday! Hard to believe!!!!!
