Is it difficult to find long term, unfurnished rentals on St Croix? I was told most are short term and they are furnished. Thank you!

In my opinion, there is no shortage of long term rental units on St. Croix. Sure, many have become short term (including my own), but I am constantly seeing long term rentals advertised in the newspaper and on various Facebook pages.

Never rent sight unseen, especially long term.
Good to check out noise levels as well.
Barking dogs, incessant rooster crowing at all hours, etc.

Always, when moving to a new location on island, check your cell phone and see if it is in a covered area. My best friends here on STX moved here with furniture and after two moves on STX they've gone to renting furnished for long term and got rid of their own furniture. You might do better searching for a semi-furnished place.
My problem with us renting furnished is most furnished have everything and I only want furniture furnished. I don't want their crappy faded art, cheap dime store flatware and cheap kitchen ware, plastic dishes, thin, skimpy linens, towels, etc.
It's much easier to find a suitable long term place when physically on island.

Calling a local realtor would be your best starting point for something like that.

What's long term for you? Five years?

I consider a year short term and there's tons of those.
