Granted I have only lived here a year and a half, but the trimmer we felt today at 3PM was the longest and one of the stronger ones I have felt since I have gotten here. The last one I remember feeling that strongly was July of 06.

Anybody know of a site where they measure the trimmers here?

Cory

This says it was a 7.3 centered in Martinique http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsus/Quakes/us2007kha5.php
Definitely the largest in the Caribbean in quite a bit.

Felt it here on Crown Mountain. First earthquake for me EVER! It took me a couple of seconds to figure out what it was. Once I figured it out it was over. lol I have to say kinda scary for a moment!

I'm up here on the mountain just above the WGOD building, some of my co-workers were pretty antsy. I have to admit it's a trip to feel these things. I have yet to feel like I have to jump into a door way though.

7.3, yowsa...it was how long it went on that surprised me. Most of the ones I have encountered have lasted about 15 seconds. This one seemed to roll for nearly a minute.

Interesting, the site now indicates 7.4. Didn't hear about any tsunamis though...

There's a tsunami advisory here: http://wcatwc.arh.noaa.gov/2007/11/29/299322/01/message299322-01.htm
(NO tsunamis expected, don't worry!)

It would seem we're not the only ones who felt it.

You can report your observations here: http://pasadena.wr.usgs.gov/shake/prt/index.html
Right now you have to click "unknown earthquake form."

I was on STX at the refinery. They scare me anyway but I think I would have fainted if I had felt it while there.

We didn't feel it in Dorothea (STT), but that's not to say it didn't shake! We were weed-eating the grass and raking, surprised I didn't feel it! The biggest I remember was way back in 88?, 6.4 on the rector scale. Scared the day lights outa me, all the phones went dead! My sister in law actually came over to ck on me (hubby was away, home alone with toddler)! Rather have a Hurricane any day over an earthquake! lol!
