Looking for the best dependable 5g internet in Charlotte Amalie.   Need to zoom, stream movies and run ring cameras.  Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Starlink is by far the best internet service in the VI (if you can get it now, I had heard our area was fully subscribed, but could be wrong). We switched from Liberty Broadband (formerly Broadband VI) about six months ago and couldn't be happier with Starlink. Blazing fast speeds most of the time and only $99 a month puts Liberty to shame on both performance AND cost.

We also recently dropped Liberty cell phones and went with T-Mobile. Wow...way better than Liberty on monthly cost, customer service and performance. We finally have great 5G cell service!

I’ll second both StarLink and T-Mobile.  Been using StarLink since last October and I’m seeing 200 to 250mbps download speeds and 15mbps upload speeds.  This is more than 2X what Broadband VI was giving me at the same cost.  As for T-Mobile, I’ve been using them for many years, starting back in MA, their coverage has been steadily improving and just to be on the safe side I installed a femtocell (sometimes called a cell spot) in our house, which T-Mobile will supply for free. These hook up to your router and serve as a mini cell tower inside your home. You can also use WiFi calling as an alternative.

@jaldeborgh hello, if you don’t mind me asking, which part of the Island do you live on? I already have a Starlink here in Miami and I’m hoping it works when we get there.

@miamistylez

I'm pretty sure @jaldeborgh is on St Croix (I am as well).

I'll also support starlink as the best option for the territory.

They may let you transfer your starlink from Miami if there's a waiting list - if I remember correctly, the fee was $25 last time I looked.

If your address doesn't show up on their list, go to Google maps and get the Google+ address code for your location on STT (it's what most of us had to do because of the strange addressing used here).

Remember that you need north sky visibility to get good service here - you can use the starlink app to see how the coverage is in your specific area.

Best of luck!

@miamistylez the vi is wait listed right now for a standard plan until later this year--if you want to use it here depending on availability the only option you may have is a mobile plan until we get some more service and will work right away--also you will probably need the google plus code for the address to verify availability
