Hi, I am new to this board, so hello everyone. I am not sure if this is the place to inquire, so forgive me if it is not.
I am based out the the Hampton's, in East LI, New York and I am looking for a position as a personal chef/ and or
caterer. I have 25yrs experience, and excellent refs. Is there a local newspaper that I should check out, or other web
sites? I just know that most of the people that have private chefs, go south, either to Palm Beach, or the Islands for
the winter and I would like to do the same. Any info would be appreciated!!! Thanks!!

Why not do a start up business here? As in a personal chef for dinner in your home? I've recently read rave reviews about having a personal chef into your home that brings everything including the dishes, stems and flat ware and cooks the meal for you and your guests. I know someone who did this stateside for 30 people, said it was cheaper and more quaint than doing fine dining in a restaurant. I'd love to do this and have people in for a night of fine dining and you take home the dishes and pots and pans.

But to answer your original question, I think it would be hard to actually line up jobs unless/until you are on-island.

angel333,
Some women on ST Thomas Stock the Rentals with food and stuff, Someone on this forum might know the name and number. They would be a good contact. A Lot of the rental managers and real estate brokers might be able to refer you as well. There are 3 islands and it is my opinion that ST Thomas and St John would be your best bet. Good Luck!

My property manager told me a couple of weeks ago that one of the ladies did indeed go back to the States. But, the remaining partner/lady is still continuing the business.

Hi everyone, thanks so much for the tips!!! I will check them all out, including RE agencies. And Tippi, if you know anyone
that would be interested in the in home catering, please let me know. It's really what I specialize in!! Also, a live-in chef
position may be ideal, as I don't have the housing situation set up yet; exploring all options at the moment.

Are there any Spiritual Centers, Bookstores, Workshops on the Island, especially St. John? I am into exploring spiritual avenues,
Angels, etc..... Anyway, thank-you all for your help!!!

Concordia in St John was advertising for a kitchen manager recently - check Maho or Concordia campgrounds website -- they do have some spiritual and new age workshops during the year.
