Looking to turn a visit to St. Thomas into a stay...

Hello all,

I was hoping I could get some advice from the local islanders. I am visiting in the end of July to St. Thomas and hoping to turn it into a stay. I have recently been sending out my resume for various positions. I have looked at career.vi daily and applied several places. I have a degree in General Business Administration and have a variety of past experience from working in a state prison to selling electronics at Best Buy, then waiting tables and so on. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this was a good way about getting a job even if I am currently living stateside. I intend to apply in person while I am there but I was hoping to make some type of connections before I got there in order to make it more than just a visit. Also if anyone knows how I could find a place with a roommate that is reasonable would be great. I have looked at some forums, craigslist, classifieds, and message boards... Any advice or direction is greatly appreciated! Hope everyone has a great day!
