Hi,

My wife and I plan to move to STX with our (soon-to-be-born) twins. We anticipate arriving in Spring '08, so our kids will be around 6 months old when we make the move. My biggest concern at this stage is health care for our newborns. I've read that STX has a 24 hour clinic/hospital, but I don't really know what kind of services they offer. Do any of you have experience with health care standards on STX? Should I be concerned or...?

Thanks,
Rick

racoe 2000,
When my Grandchildren come to visit, one of them often becomes sick, and requires medical attention. We have used (RIZALINA R. BATENGA, M.D. PEDIATRICIAN) her office is at Sunny Isle, Christiansted, Telephone # (340) 778-5786. Her office is only Two blocks from the Hospital. The Hospital is Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital & Medical Center, 4007 Estate Diamond Ruby, Christiansted, Tele# (340)778-6311. Pediatric Unit (340) 772-7347.
Unfortunately we have used the Emergency room on more than one occasion, and we received excellent care and service. Your Babies are going to love it here.

Thanks Lizard! Of everything I've read so far, healthcare is the only thing that gave me pause. Hopefully, our twins will be healthy and we won't need to find out about the emergency services, but it's reassuring to know that quality care is available if needed...

Cheers,
Rick

My wife is a NICU nurse and we are in the process of moving to STX in the not too distant future. This past summer she was given a firsthand tour of the newborn nursery and NICU on STX and came away very favorably impressed. Latest equipment, clean, well staffed and organized.
