Are there areas for primitive camping on stx?

Not really. I've heard of it up at Annaly, but its a hike. I would be concerned with safety issues unless you were really far out of the way.

armed robbery can be a concern for non- populated areas.

Call Bruce at Mount Victory Camp. He was working on a trail for hiking and camping.That means no potty. I am not sure he is done might be though. You can car camp at Mount Victory or get one of the tent cabins. They have full bath for each sex, and a bar.

I would think the biggest safety issue would be ne'er do wells with machetes.
