barbie,
Except for the classified ads, I don't know anyone selling used office furniture. However, I think a good source would be local Realtors (who would know who's moving and what has to be sold). Good Luck!

Maybe Home Again in Red Hook Shopping Center. They may have a desk or two.

What kind of store space? Rents (retail) on STT are horrendous for any halfway decent location.

Saw some office furniture advertised the Daily News. If the price is right for you you can ship to STX on the Norma H.

On St. Croix there are two stores that sell consignment furniture. The one I recommend is Uniquities in Peters Rest shopping center (where the FedEx office is).

the Norma H is a shipping barge that goes back and forth between STT and STX. It makes it possible to buy lots of stuff at Home Depot and other places on STT and bring it to STX without tearing your hair out trying to figure out transportation.

You can also shop in San Juan and have things barged to STX via Water Spirit, which is owned by Flemmings Transport. Flemmings also has trucks in San Juan and on STX to help with transport from the store to the barge and then from the barge to your home.

I've seen halfway decent office furniture at the Animal Welfare flea market behind Golden Rock. Not nice or anything, but you wouldn't have to hide it from customers either. Some desks and chairs also turn up at East End Kmart (read: the dump) once in a while.

hi Barbie

In case you didn't read today's Avis, there's an ad about a Business Moving Sale - #34 Strand Street, Green Building next to Seaborne Airlines entrance. Used office furniture, desks, shelves, miscellaneous. Saturday, October 13, 10am to 2pm. All purchases must be removed from the premises on the day of the sale.
