modern rock radio stations in the VI

i am a faithful listener of 100.3 WPLY here in philadelphia. they play modern rock and alternative music, which as far as i'm concerned makes them one of philly's very few redeeming virtues. to my dismay, they don't broadcast via the internet. i assumed i could find this kind of music on the radio dial in the VI, but last time i was on island, all i could find to listen to was hip hop, reggae, and pop.

does anyone know if any stations in the VI play alternative/modern rock, i.e. nirvana, pearl jam, foofighters, etc.? in lieu of that, does anyone know how i could tune into WPLY or any similar radio station via the internet, satellite radio, etc.?

thanks in advance for all advice.

We have two stations that you may like.

96.1 FM is Pirate Radio
104.4 FM is The Buzz

As far as internet radio, I like this:

*Just googled "internet radio" some and found this*...I think I have a new favorite. 🙂
Very good quality, and a lot of good stations...(like EnergyX)

http://www.shoutcast.com/

EnergyX that I tried runs in Winamp or Real Player at 128k and MP3 quality...excellent! I just heard Foo Fighters "Darling Nikki". 🙂

A couple others that aren't too bad:

http://www.accuradio.com/ (HAD this in my favorites until I found ShoutCast...thanks! Well, it's still there, but as a backup...lol)

http://launch.yahoo.com/launchcast/setup.asp (set up your own radio station...good quality for free. For best quality they want $3.99 a month)

They have tons of decent radio stations on the net, one from the jersey shore that is good is www.wjse.com, 102.7

Down here, 104.3 is awesome. they are a mix of all kinds of rock, but they play some old stuff that i have completely forgotten about.

As far as I know, no radio station down here does internet broadcasting.

I'm biased, but I much prefer Pirate Radio to the Buzz. I think the Buzz is just too loud and grating from times, and I'm not a big fan of shock jocks.
