Hello,

I have recently been offered a position at a local restaurant (I need to be in St Thomas by mid April) and after researching the island and the restaurant I am very interested in taking the position. I am originally from a small town inTexas, single, and in my mid twenties. I have never been to the islands but I am very interested in new culture and new places. I am in need of some advice on life, moving and any thing that you feel could be important to know so I can make my decision. Also anyone that could offer any information as to someone in need of a roommate, a one bedroom furnished apartment, or a classified listing for apartments that you could email to me would be amazing. ([email protected]) I would be greatly Thankful for anyones assistance.

What restaurant/area? Will you bring a vehicle?

Frenchtown and I will most likely bring a vehicle.

Tickles?

One option for housing that would be convenient is Plantation Manor which is up the mountain from Subbase. You will need a vehicle or do the taxi-shuffle.

Hello,

You are on the right board and web site for finding information and help for your moving plans. I would suggest that you read through all the informaiton on this site and do searches of the message board for topics of interest to you and then ask specific questions on what you want to know about rather then for tips or broad topics - you will get more feedback with focused questions, ask as many you think of.

For classifieds they are found in two print papers - the Daily News and the weekly Island Trader. The first one has a few of its articles and classifieds on line but not all of them - http://www.virginislandsdailynews.com .

There are several apartments usually available in Frenchtown. Just ask around once there!
