I think by now most of us here are aware that you don't like deJongh.

And so what...

I didn't share the link to the image because I am not a DeJongh supporter. I shared the image because it is irrefutable evidence of either a planned election or misuse of public funds. Regardless of who one supports, OUR tax dollars paid for this. Do you get that?

People often complain about our tax dollars being used for welfare, unjust salaries, or outrageous perks for government workers. Tell me what the difference is between those gripes and what DeJongh has done.

Is this site only for DeJongh supporters? Is it only for those who prefer to follow blindly? Is it only for those like dntw8up who think they have the answers?

Did the photos at least make you think a little?

@ dntw8up: I hope you are satisfied with the condition of your roads over there on STT. The redirected funds that paid for the construction of DeJongh's private residence was intended to repair Nadir.

PLEASE let me know when you blow out a tire or two on that road, or if your car stalls-out because there is too much water on the road. PRAY that no one dies this coming storm: we lost a good person a year and a half ago in F'sted for the same reason Nadir needs to be fixed.

Bloggers like you seem to know alot, but do nothing memorable with the knowledge.

Good Day Saucey -

There's no need for histrionics about guard houses and blown tires; all of us are aware that the VI government is corrupt. Of course this site is not "only for DeJongh supporters," as you and I both post here. I'm no more "satisfied" with the roads here than are you, but I'd be happy to drive on mud roads if the local government would pay it's electric bill. I have learned not to have any expectations that local tax dollars will remedy anything I care about, because it's clear that local tax dollars are earmarked to line the pockets of local professional politicians. There's nothing wrong with griping, but a link alone does not constitute a gripe, and the source of the link you posted is suspect at best. And for the record, I have never blogged.

Defensive, arrogant, kurt.

Responding to or creating headlines on this site, or any other with similar m.o. is blogging.

What have you done dntw8up to improve the life for any Virgin Islander besides yourself?

You are correct, it is my way. English is my native language, I love it, and hate to see it abused. If you are an adult, native english speaker, you should know how to spell the word "curt" without use of spellcheck.

This discussion has certainly made me think...that the OP has no idea what a blog is, nor what 'M.O.' means.

Just English "evloving" if you will... These days, if you can make out what someone meant, it is good enough to go. "English" as you learned as a child, is gone and is not coming back.

luv me some vinow.com!

i tend to lurk a lot, and contribute where i can... but every once in a while there is a thread that starts innocently enough and becomes hilarious very early in due a "toss in bomb/shut the door" post. a seasoned denizen calls poster on technique, and it's on if the op takes the bait. then, the discussion turns down a new road, the original intent of the topic lost.

it's how i learn that if i want to have a fruitful discussion, i must try very hard to frame all posts and comments in a way that invites discussion. on the other hand, if i want to have a one-sided discussion, i can take my chances and simply vomit and see what happens. i cannot remember ever doing that here.

* popcorn, jujubes & milk duds for everyone! *

I only speak American, the international language.

Seriously, there are some significant differences in English throughout the world, just look at the St. Thomian dialect.

I guess i am just tired of the "snark" factor on forums...the most irritating example being the correction of other people's minor errors in their use of language.
In communication, there is a sender and a receiver - there is a message and then there is interference (or noise). IMVHO, the Grammar Nazis are noise.
I think that it is a little condescending and a lot rude...perhaps the person didn't have the best education or perhaps they have a learning disability...I don't know and quite frankly it's not my job to parent or police other adults who are my peers...we are ALL just posters on a relocation forum.
If I can tell what you mean and you haven't asked me for help in correcting your language usage...AND..I didn't give birth to you...then go for it as best you can!

Now what was the original post about again...ah yes, I believe it was all time fave movie snacks...make mine Milk Duds every time.

Bless you, Anita; and a life of caramel-coated popcorn to you.

Remember what Thumper's mother said in "Bambi:" "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."
