Need help locating wedding hair stylist in St. Croix

I live on St. Croix and had a girl set to be the stylist at my daughters wedding in May. She has left island and won't be back. I had a friend recommend one and when I spoke to this person she said she would charge $85 to $100 per head.....

I am not cheap but I don't want to spend a ton of money on the wedding party to have some barrettes put in their hair.

The wedding is at Carambola on May 10th. The wedding party consists of 4 girls, the bride, and maybe the two mothers.

This board has helped me in the past so hopefully I can get a reply that will get one more item off my list.

Thanks!

Marlene

Give a call to Joli Reese at Under the Palms in Gallows Bay. She's excellent, been going to her for years. 340-690-5654.

Marlene, with that number of women have their hair done on STX, get ready to drop some bit bucks wherever you decide to go.

Maybe you should consider a Flobee and call it a day! : Good Luck.

Haha! I never thought of that! Too funny.

Thanks for the replies. I know Joli and she has done my hair as well so hopefully she dedicates Saturdays to weddings. Fingers crossed. I'll contact her.

I'll add that Gail Riggs would probably come to you at Carambola. I got married 10 years ago here on STX and I had 5 in wedding party and myself and at that time it cost me over $500.00. Remember, things here as well as services here are higher than in the states as a rule. PM me if you would like Gail's cell number. Also, the two mentioned above are a ways away from Carombola.

$85 to $100 per head is about the norm in the states too. Wedding hair is expensive. Good luck!

Gail specializes in weddings...she does travel to the destination. I know for a fact she has pictures of all the brides hair she has done, as I looked at them last weekend. Exquisite hair! Just my opinion anyway!

Agreed. This is about the norm in the states. I'm a hairstylist and have worked for salons that charge at least this per style plus an automatic 25% gratuity for bridal parties as well as an additional "fee" if they had to send stylists to the location rather than the bridal party coming to the salon.

Yes, and the work is more than just "putting barrettes in their hair." 🙂 I could do that for free, ha ha!
