Considering relocating for work but one major concern - availability of neurologists and medication.

Recently had seizures but have been managed with medication. Just worried that I wouldn’t be able to receive the medication and if something were to happen who could I see. Any neurologists you would recommend?

Dr Weishner is a neurologist with a good reputation but he is in STT and in STX for few hrs on some Saturdays.  It takes a month to get an appt with him if you are lucky.  Be very careful about which Drs you pick.  A lot come here is they lose their license in states or can't pass boards or cant get residency in states.

Medication can be shipped but it takes time and hopefully they order it right the first time.

I don't know anything about the neurologists here so I'll leave that to others. I will suggest this: once you find one, I highly suggest you get a referral and your full records sent to them from your current doctor before you even make your plane reservations. I had to do that months before to get an appointment for 2 months After I got here.

As far as medications, I'd ask your doctor there for a three month prescription (the max most insurances will pay). Also, find out if your company uses the same insurance here and which pharmacies are preferred. Find a couple closest to where you'll live to see if they carry that medication. If not, don't worry, most will order for you with a valid prescription, just have enough of a supply to wait a few days to a few weeks. In other words, do everything you can, as soon as you can.

David Weisher for sure. I agree that you need to find out about insurance with your company and to find out if your medication is available here.
