Hi all, My name is Jessie and I am a 20 year old female from Minnesota looking to relocate to the Islands. I've been reading the posts for about two weeks now and you all have been extremely helpful. Right now, I currently have a full time position in a Freight Forwarding Company which brings me to my first question, are there any freight companies in the Islands? I also work at a restaurant part time. I know that line of work is typically easy to find. I'm hoping to have enough saved to be down there by the end of October/early November. I'd appreciate any insight you could give me in general, not just pertaining to employment. Thanks!

Don't have much insight about the islands because I am new to the board and am also doing research for my big move. I am 22 and also work as server/bartender. I am planning on moving october(as long as I have enough saved!!!) Which island are you interested in? I've got my eyes set on STT.

Welcome to the board Jessie.

There are Freight management companies like Managed Freight: http://www.managedfreight.com/ Not sure if thats quite what you had in mind. You might also look in the yellow pages at http://www.viphonebook.com and see what you find.

Which island are you interested in?

Thanks for the link Islander!

That's exactly the type of thing I was looking for. I was leaning towards St. John although I've been well informed of the cost of living there. I see looking at this link that this company is based out of St. Croix. I don't nessessarily have to work in the freight business but since that is my full time position, I might as well try to. Like I said before, I also work part time as a server in a restaurant so I have experience there as well. I really have my heart set on St. John but I could be willing to compromise that. What is the cost of living on St. Croix? Less expensive?? About the same?? Thanks in advance!

Jessie
