ODBII Code Reader (STX)

My check engine light is on and I'd like to read the codes on my suzi. I usually handle my own repairs. Back up north I could just cruise by autozone and they would do it for free. No such luck here on STX.

Does anyone have a code reader, or know of somewhere I can get my codes read inexpensively.

Thanks,
Scott.

Buy one @ Advanced auto parts for $80, or Ebay for $40.
If your going to do your own repairs, (or not) get one.
I say get one even if you don`t do your own repairs so you can second guess your mechanic(or at least keep him honest).

Yes I can get one shipped down from the mainland, but thought that someone might have one to share.

I come from the land down under the land down under, and every person doesn't go out an buy specialized tools that you only use once in a while, we borrow/share with our neighbours. That sense of community, sharing, and helping out your mates, is what I hope to encourage here. I know it exists because of the many acts of kindness and support that I've witnessed, and it is one of the many reasons we chose St. Croix as our home.

I assumed you checked your gas cap first. Not trying to be a jerk but that got me once...only once 😉

I have one, bought it on Ebay and after buying it the light on my 2001 Focus never came back on again. Murphy's law, this time in a good way. If you can't get it read I could be of help.

Yes, lending is fine, as long as the item is returned.
