Hi Tom, nice to meet you at what had to be the weirdest job interview ever! But any job interview which ends with candy can't be all bad, can it?

Oh, Trade, you would have had to been there. First it was a group interview. There were four of there. We got partnered up (Tom from this board - I think he said his name was PapaTom) and we had to introduce ourselves and give each other "wrestler names" Tom WON! That meant I won too but he got the "prize".

Then we were given questions - they alternated between serious stuff like your strong points vs weak points and if you had super powers what would they be. My fave was why are man hole covers round 🙂 I know the real answer now! These were printed and answered in writing then turned in. No one else saw the answers.

Next came a series of ten questions which had to be answered by each of us aloud - as in Tom would answer, I would answer then the next two people would answer for the first question then the next would be asked. These began quite nicely then ended with "who in this room would you hire other than yourself and why". WOOOOOOOOOO.

At the end Tom got his prize - a company t-shirt and koozie and we all walked away with a company plastic cup full of candy.

It was a trip and actually almost fun! Heck, any job interview which ends with candy can't be all bad!

Manhole covers are round so they can't be dropped down the hole. Just won't fit.

Sky, that actually is the answer. Did not know it at the time so I just answered that the holes were round! Seems the #1 answer is that people are round!

My super power was invisibilty, Juanita, what would yours be?

It was fun!

No joke, a friend of ours says his super power is that he can fully undress in less than 10 seconds...then he goes on to prove it....not pretty:-o

I have but it was back in the 70's. Damn, what was I doing interviewing for a job when I was 5 years old?

This job interview was actually really fun, once you got over the initial shock of making up super hero names for your partner! LOL.
Company seems really solid ( I checked them out before), fun group of employees and owners. I have been trying to figure out all day what exactly they see as far as professional qualities from this type of interview, must work however since they are successful!
Pam~ I will PM you later, running out to Island Time for happy hour 😀

Cheryl, yes it was sort of fun.

I also wonder what they want but I guess they are looking for composure, self assurance, the fun factor and sense of humor. Again, CANDY! I am going to start including candy in all the interviews I do for crews! And some of the questions they ask were very sensible in an odd sort of way.

Email me tomorrow!

divinggirl,

Apologies to you. I was rude not to answer but I've been looking for a job since June. I am not making fun of the company and would prefer to stall the answer to your question until I see if Cheryl, Tom or I get a call back. There are also two others on this board who have interviewed. So once ONE of gets the job i will be happy to spill all the beans.

Funny, I had forgotten about this thread. I know neither Cheryl nor I got the job. Not sure about Tom. it was an A/C company based out of Atlanta. Honestly I can't remember the name but it was one of the most interesting job interviews I've been on. Thanks for reminding me and making me laugh.
