Does anyone know if any of the pet insurance companies offer coverage in the USVI?

Do the Vets have to apply for payment or does the insured pay the vet bill & then get reimbursed? If the former, you'd probably have to check with the Vet. If it's the latter, you should probably check with the insurance company. I, personally don't know anyone down here that has it but then, maybe others do.

The vets won't do the paperwork for it, so you would have to pay and then be reimbursed by the insurance company.

I have never heard of anyone using or accepting pet ins on stx. I always thought pet ins was like dental. It doesn't save you enough to make paying for it monthly. You be better off just putting a little of you money in savings a month to save for that emergency.

Moving here last from ca I was very impressed with what the vets charge here. Its very reasonable, they don't rob you. Even more impressed with their caring and standards.

I was also very impressed with the vets in STX (and that is one thing I'm really picky about) As far as insurance goes, unless you're very unlucky and have a chronically ill animal, it usually isn't worth it anyway. Do some research on natural health care for pets, most diseases can be avoided with a suitable life style.

Crap, glad I stumbled across this thread. I'm pretty sure we're still paying VPI and now I need to cancel.
