ok so im reposting because im just so impatient... sorry! but im really curious as to wether i could own and drive a moped down there.. i dont want to bring my car we are only gonna be there for 4 months... and i also asked about waitressing jobs down there some place fun and busy! any suggesstions on where to look?

You can own and drive a moped there,however,once you've been on the roads that are narrow ,curvy and steep such as even the best island roads,I'm sure you would think twice about risking your life in Island traffic. Im sure that is why you dont see them in the islands like you do in say Key West!

Amy, Yes you could ride your moped. Tourists rent them to buzz around the island as a fun thing. However, as mentioned by Capnvinny above, if you're travelling say from the East End and had to go work in a resturant or at a hotel in Charlotte Amalie everyday, the traffic up and over the mountain would not be a fun thing to do. Two lanes, bumper to bumper.......stop and start.
So, it may depend on where you get a job in relation to where you might be staying.
Jobwise - the best time to look is NOT now, but just before high season starts - like middle to late October 1st of November - right guys?
