Police at Magens today?

Would anyone happen to know why 5-6 police officers on ATV's were flying down the beach at Magens just a few minutes ago? At first we thought they might be looking for someone at one of the parties, but they passed them by and raced down to the other end.
Surely this wouldn't be a training exercise on a Sunday afternoon with a packed beach? Perhaps their time and efforts would be better spent actually fighting crime and getting guns off the streets.

Maybe that's what they were doing.

ATVs? Maybe they bought them with stimulus money and decided to take them for a spin?

They had a bunch of cycles in the parking lot today. Maybe they were testing them out?

Just what we need is ATVs tearing down the beach, crushing turtle nests. (td) Yuck. I hope they go the way of the rest of the equipment the government buys- no maintenance, bye-bye...

Probably one of their friends was hosting one of the parties that was going on and they wanted to show off.

Hey Anita --

Unless I'm missing something, the information in the link you posted was last updated August 6th, and Sunday was August 9th. The line of cars waiting to get into Magens was backed up to the dairy for much of the day, and the beach was hoppin'. I saw the ATVs, but don't know if they were there on official business.

You suggested someone call a government office to receive a timely answer to a question.

The suggestion given to me by the same poster, was to search the Internet...
So, I guess we don`t need this board, if we have questions we`ll just search the Internet instead!
So, my search turned up nothing.
Anyone have a link to the vi taxi commission, association, partners in crime, taxi tax evaders etc.?

The USVI Taxi Commission can be reached at 774-3130, 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday.

i would be surprised if they had an Internet presence.

Trade,

That link goes to a "taxi and tour provider", not the taxi commission.
